WOVEN LOVE - Kusco Finds Her Bison Herd | A Baapolis Short Film

[Happy National Bison Day!] While you may know Kopernicus is General Iris' nephew, did you know that Iris has a daughter? KUSCO is much loved by GENERAL IRIS, though she often doesn't have the time and space to show it. Iris gets overly concerned with whether Kopernicus is fit to govern Baapolis after her (ewe and ram must alternate the governing seat each generation). This sends Kusco in directions not often found within Baapolis. Not being noticed much at home, she gains interests and whims to venture out, to seek new friends. One of the herds she chooses is Bison! They are nomadic and majestic. They provide a sense of solidness, groundedness, and fierce warm love. FILM DETAILS In this film, WOVEN LOVE, Kusco finishes a woven portrait of her mother Iris and picks the worst possible moment to show it. What she finds next, in a bison camp over the hill, changes how she weaves and where she belongs. 4-minutes. 2D animated. Dialogue-free. A daughter, a busy mother, and the other family who will take you in. ABOUT THE ARTIST AND THE PROCESS Made in just over a month by one artist for our Winternship Short Film Challenge in January 2026. While a film can always be tweaked to be flawless, we are so incredibly proud of our Animator Andrea Ouellette, who beautifully achieved this four-minute film in such a short time! Andrea even received audience feedback that was incredibly touching:    • WOVEN LOVE film, audience feedback Sept. 2...   🧶 NEW TO BAAPOLIS?
