The Boss and the Baby: Harry Truman's Favorite Ladies

To celebrate Bess Truman's birthday, the Truman Library and the Independence Pioneer chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution present the annual Bess Truman Tea public program, held on February 15, 2022. This year's program turns the spotlight on Bess Truman ("the Boss") and Margaret Truman ("the Baby") whose stories are woven throughout the newly renovated Truman Library exhibits. Truman Library archivist Tammy Williams and audiovisual archivist Laurie Austin highlight some of the most memorable new additions. DAR participants include Susan Bowman, Julie Anderson, and Christina Jones; with Robert Grover of the Sons of the American Revolution. Truman Library Deputy Director Kelly Anders introduced the archivists. This event was hosted online by the Truman Library Institute, with Morgan Jorgensen as the event producer.
