Phuti Khomo Responds to Skin Bleaching After Video Showing Light Skin With Dark Knuckles & Elbows

Phuti Khomo has responded after a viral video showing her with noticeably lighter skin and darker knuckles and elbows sparked skin bleaching discussions on social media. Following the criticism, Phuti admitted in the video's caption that she had over edited the footage and used lighting tricks. In her response, she questioned why people were so focused on her knuckles, pointing instead to her work in creating jobs and changing people's lives. Others, however, pointed out the contradiction between using AI, filters and editing to alter one's appearance while promoting confidence and self-acceptance among young people through a modelling agency. They questioned how children can be taught to embrace their natural beauty when the people they look up to are not practising the same message.
