2026 IDPA Nationals - Revolver/Expert - DNFed! Nighthawk Custom Korth Mongoose

My 2026 IDPA Nationals match experience came to a quicker end than I had hoped sadly. I was DNFed (Did Not Finish) at equipment check 4 stages into my day. Details in the video too but will post the story here too. After 4 stages, my squad rotated into the equipment check and chrono bay of the match. My Korth Mongoose with D+L Sports grips was inadvertently overweight by .5X ounce (that is a half an ounce). Months and months ago I had been using wooden Korth grips and had the gun weighed multiple times and was well under the maximum IDPA weight. I bought new grips and never imagined that they were so heavy that they would put me over. Oversight by me for not checking weight at home before the match with the newer grips. The MD and officials were very nice about it and since it is not a DQ and is considered a DNF, I was allowed to continue to shoot the match - for no score if I would have chosen to. With a 5+ hour drive home and to save my squad time - I chose to pack up and head home. Very disappointing result for something I had been working towards for quite a while. I was shooting well and mentally was very much on point to be shooting a national level match. Thanks for everyone watching - I appreciate it! Not much to show for the video - the 4 stages (of 14) that I shot and my results on those 4.
