This video presents jeté entrelacé by Ethan Stiefel, Leonid Sarafanov, and Igor Zelensky. A grand jeté en tournant is a jump from one foot, followed by a half turn, then a split jump landing on the other foot. The step is common for both men and women. According to Gail Grant, Technical Manual and Dictionary of Classical Ballet (Dover 1982), the proper name of the step is grand jeté dessus en tournant in the French School and grand jeté en tournant en arriére in the Cecchetti. The step is commonly referred to as a tour jeté, but Grant calls this a “corruption” of the terms specified above.
