Mahārāja Parīkṣit, the noble descendant of the Pāṇḍavas, accepts the vows of a sage and sits by the sacred Ganges to fast until death, surrendering completely at the lotus feet of Lord Mukunda. The purport reveals that by taking shelter of Krishna’s lotus feet—just as the Ganges emanates from Viṣṇu’s feet—one becomes free from sins and all material associations. Even the reverses of life, as in Parīkṣit Mahārāja’s curse, become favorable when one is fixed in remembrance of the Lord. True liberation is attained by constant meditation on Krishna without deviation.
📖 Watch this video to learn how Mahārāja Parīkṣit’s surrender teaches us the real path of liberation through bhakti and remembrance of Krishna.
