Apparitions of Abyssal Light

A large composition I made in FL studio 25 with a Piano and an Orchestra. This piece was heavily inspired by my favorite game OST of all time, Genshin Impact. More specifically, the 2 major soundtracks for an area called "The Chasm". Their names are "Decayed in the Darkness"/"A Shard of Past Glories", and "Stories of Remote Antiquity". Theres quite a lot of backstory behind this piece. Firstly, I consider this my first "proper" orchestral track. Ive made a few orchestral pieces before but to me they feel more like "song with orchestral instruments" rather then an "orchestral song", if that makes any sort of sense... Secondly, I had the privilege of being able to attend a small livestream-course-workshop thing by ‪@InsidetheScore‬ that was held in early December of last year. I learned a LOT and it really put vague feelings I had into concrete terms. More specifically, the workshop focused on two things. Learning to narrow your "style" scope (e.g what style of music you want to make, and choosing which composers to learn from). As well as taking control of your "Workflow" and planning out your piece more before you even open up the DAW. Needless to say, I was trying out a bunch of new things that I wasnt used to in the slightest. Alongside accidentally ballooning the scope/size of the song (sorry :3), and we get something that has taken me approximately 3 and a half months to finish 😭😭 But putting all of that behind us, Im VERY VERY happy with how this piece came out. And while im still not very proficient in both writing for orchestra and producing it myself (mostly the dynamics automation for everything, the little curves that dictate how softly/loudly the instrument plays over time), aswell as the fact the project stretched out for so long 💀, I still think Ive done a great job. And in the end (apart from the tedious process of making all the automations), I had a ton of fun planning the piece out, writing melodies and counter melodies and accompaniment, going through various instrument combinations trial-and-error-ing the orchestration/instrumentation of each section, and watching as it all came to life when automating :') also HOLY PROCRASTINATION FOR 3/4 OF THE PROJECT YIPEEEEE ------- Please email me if you want to use my music thank you!! original by ‪@Vortex‬​
