XXL Glass Installation in Dubai: 4-Metric-Ton Panes Above the Entrance to the Dubai Mall

A spectacular installation project in the heart of Dubai: For the glazing of the main entrance to the Dubai Mall, Heavydrive installed curved glass panes 14 meters high and 3 meters wide, each weighing up to 4,000 kg. The particular challenge: The panels had to be precisely positioned and installed beneath a 5.8-meter-deep overhang. The VSG 4000 KR vacuum suction system for curved panels was used in combination with the VSG 6000 Konter counter beam. This allowed the glass panels, each weighing several metric tons, to be moved safely and precisely to their installation site.
