This is me catching Kyogre, the Sea Basin Pokémon, and one of the Legendary Pokémon of Hoenn, in my new Pokémon Emerald walkthrough, done in April-June 2014.
WARNING! THIS VIDEO CONTAINS A LOT OF FAST-FORWARDING AND RETAKES, AND THE VIDEO QUALITY WILL SUFFER BECAUSE OF THAT! I HOPE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND.
Kyogre's lair is the Marine Cave, which isn't always at the same location, but it can be found on Route 105, 125, 127, or 129, which are all water routes. In order to determine the correct Route to go to, visit the Weather Insititute west of Fortree City during the post-game, and talk to the Scientist on the second floor. He will tell you about a sudden wave of intense sunlight or harsh rain on a certain Route, and if it is the latter, Kyogre is present. Be sure to have a Pokémon with Dive in your team, for you will need it in order to enter the Marine Cave. Once you are on the right Route, you should find a Diving spot not usually present there. Use it to enter Kyogre's lair, and make sure you SAVE THE GAME before walking in front of Kyogre, thus triggering the battle with it.
Remember, if you take too much steps while looking for the Marine Cave, it will temporarily disappear and be replaced by Groudon's lair, the Terra Cave.
Kyogre is at level 70, has the Ability Drizzle (which summons a permanent rain as soon as the battle starts), and knows the moves Hydro Pump, Double-Edge, Rest, and Sheer Cold. Watch out for Sheer Cold, for it will result in an automatic KO of your Pokémon if it hits. Hydro Pump will also get a power boost due to the rain Kyogre summons into the battle. Rest can be very frustrating, but it does put Kyogre to sleep for a couple of turns, so try taking advantage of that. Also watch out for Double-Edge: not only is it a rather strong move, it does also cause recoil damage to the user, which may result in Kyogre knocking itself out if it's low on health, so REALLY watch out for that, or you might have go through this ordeal again and again.
Two weather Pokémon down, one more to go!
PS. Sorry for the sound going off-sync.
PPS. Please comment and rate! :D
