Solo Survival Camping in Dartmoor | Building a Woodland Shelter

I headed out to Dartmoor National Park for a solo wild camping trip, with the plan of hiking into the woods and spending the night in a simple survival shelter. The trip didn’t quite go to plan from the start. The route I’d mapped out didn’t match what was actually on the ground, so I had to backtrack, explore a few different areas and work out another way through the landscape. After plenty of walking and taking in the wild Dartmoor scenery, I eventually reached the woodland and set up my shelter for the night. Once camp was sorted, I cooked up a steak and pasta dinner, relaxed in the woods and settled in for the night. The next morning I was up early, packed everything away and hiked back out. A simple overnight adventure, a bit of navigation trouble, some good food and a night sleeping out in the woods.
