I usually record the guitars and bass myself, since those are the instruments I actually know how to play. I also create all the harmonic progressions and arrangements. Once everything is ready, I edit the backing track, then handle the mixing and mastering myself. In the past, I programmed everything in Logic, but lately I've been experimenting with AI, and I've been really enjoying the results.
