X-10 Operations Using the Electronic Serial Number to Set the Operating Mode and Combination

If you have lost or forgotten the current combination, and the back cover is accessible, you can use the 8-digit serial number for the X-10, or 6-digit serial number for the X-09 to select the operating mode and change the combination(s): 1. To begin, force an error by entering an incorrect six-digit combination. The Lightning Bolt symbol will appear. 2. While the Lightning Bolt is displayed, insert the change key into the change key port and turn the dial left until you see the Key symbol. 3. Continue dialing to the left and stop on the first two digits of the electronic serial number 4. Now dial right to the second two digits 5. Dial left to the third two digits 6. And finally, dial right to the fourth two digits 7. Now, dial left to select the mode of operation and stop on the desired number. Remember, the modes of operation are: • 1 - for Single Combination Mode • 2 - for Dual Combination Mode • 3 - for Supervisory/Subordinate Mode 8. Dial right.
