WE MISS YOU LIAM

This is a song I wrote a few years back, Its a tribute to the late great Liam Clancy. It came about after I made the trip to Waterford to visit Liam`s grave in a place called "An Rinn" I was staying in a hotel in Kilkenny at the time so it was maybe an hours or so driving. It took a while to find the graveyard but when I did, I remember how quite it was. Liam`s grave had a Celtic cross but it was a simple grave, no fuss, not many flowers. As I stood there I kept thinking how wrong it all felt, I thought back to his time with the Clancy brother, with Tommy Makem, the shows, the songs and here we were in silence...total silence.. God he was one of the best, we wont see his likes again and we are the worse of for that...today is his birthday, he would have been 91.
