Bozner Bergsteiger-Marsch (Sepp Tanzer)

Live recording by the European Wind Ensemble, Richmond, Virginia. Copyright 2026. The Bozner Bergsteigerlied (English: Bozen mountaineer song) is one of the two unofficial hymns of the South Tyroleans, the other being the Andreas-Hofer-Lied. Its lyrics were composed in 1926 by Karl Felderer in Moos am Ritten to the melody of an old Tyrolean craftsmen's song. The melody was dapted from an older traditional song (such as the Hessian song Der vergnügte Schreiner or an old Tyrolean craftsmen's song) Arrangements and performances have been set to various band and brass arrangements over the years, including versions by Sepp Tanzer and Die Fidelen Inntaler (arranged by Chris Gorman).
