This marks the first major overhaul of the legislation since its official enactment in 2010. The revised legal framework significantly expands the law to 14 chapters and 82 articles, explicitly outlining a mechanism to transform the country's peacetime. Underscoring this transition, China’s National Development and Reform Commission has already established a new Comprehensive Department of National Defense Mobilisation ahead of the law's implementation.
