Danza Mazatl (Venado) 🦌 Calpulli Mictlan

Calpulli Mictlan presents Danza Mazatl, the dance of the deer. Mazatl is the seventh day sign of the tonalpohualli, our sacred calendar, and carries the energy of gentleness, sensitivity, and awareness. Through this danza we honor the deer as a teacher, a reminder to walk through life with grace and humility, to stay alert to the world around us, and to live in balance with nature. Its light, springing steps and watchful movements bring the spirit of the venado into the circle. Danza is prayer in movement. Every step, drumbeat, and sound of the ayoyotes carries the memory of our ancestors and keeps our traditions alive for future generations. Tlazohcamati (thank you) to all the danzantes, families, and community members who keep this tradition alive. Ometeotl 🦌 #DanzaAzteca #DanzaMexica #CalpulliMictlan #Mazatl #Venado #Ometeotl #Tradicion
