SCOUT'S EYE AT SLOAN PARK: Cabada's 0-2 Walk & Useche's Hustle Game | ChiFan Central

The box score says Cabada went hitless and Mesa lost 13-2. The box score is not telling the story about both of these guys. Filmed pitch by pitch at Sloan Park on Oct 28, 2026 — Mesa vs Surprise, Arizona Fall League. Juan Cabada (2B): a strikeout that showed a two-strike spin-recognition gap, then a fielder's choice where he scored easily from second on Snell's errored grounder, a clean routine grounder flipped to Useche for the 4-3 putout, a composed flyout to left-center, and the signature at-bat — down 0-2 in the 9th, he worked a walk. Miguel Useche: a patient walk, a roped single to center, a running over-the-shoulder catch in right-field foul territory, a flyout down the right-field line, and a fielder's choice that moved Snell over — plus the habits that don't show in a line: backing up every throw, hustling knowing he leads off, first man into the dugout after the top of the 7th. Watch the between-innings clip: the first two Solar Sox off the field are Useche and Cabada — one and two. The two kids this video is about, out-hustling the whole roster back to the dugout. I spoke with Miguel and Kade Snell after the game. This is the scout who stays to talk. Chicago Sports • Arizona Stories ChiFan Central
