From dry hollowbody tone and vintage Japanese Maxon humbuckers to slapback, reverb, tremolo and overdrive — a gradual move into my preferred tone for this blues/jazz jam.
This no talking guitar demo features a 1977 Greco SA-550 with Maxon U-1000 humbucker pickups, played through a Headstrong Royal Reverb with a Celestion G12-65 speaker. The playing is an ad-lib blues/jazz jam built around a minor progression, with minor blues phrasing, altered dominant sounds, half-whole / whole-half diminished ideas and a few outside chord movements along the way.
The loop was recorded with a TC Electronic Ditto X2.
