My friend couldn't get his gear back

Episode 13 of my first Valheim playthrough. This episode, my friend dies alone on the mountain and can't get his stuff back. I eventually am forced to come escort him to his gear, but something else goes wrong even when I'm there to protect him. Once the problem is resolved, we decide on which silver weapons to make, and continue mining silver.
