*#2 7/4/2026-Severe storm with 90+ mph winds, quarter-sized hail strikes Norman, OK

Another special Sunday upload, but it's not a train video this time around! Last night, Mother Nature decided to put on her own fireworks display by sending a destructive, severe storm through Norman. Two outflow boundaries converged on the southwest side of the OKC metro, which produced a squall line that rapidly intensified into a 90+ mph wind storm with quarter-sized hail to boot. The fireworks in Norman were cancelled prior to the storms striking, but I don't think anyone expected this. The Max Westhimer Airport recorded wind gusts of 68, 90, and 92 mph; trees and power poles were blown down throughout the city, and structural damage occurred, including at least one building that was destroyed. Quarter-size hail was also confirmed. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the area shortly before the storm hit, with the indicated hazards being 70 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail. It would be increased to 80 mph wind gusts as the storm continued through the area, with the quarter-sized hail remaining a threat as well. The storm seen here is 1 of the fiercest I've ever seen; it was literally 20 minutes of sheer mayhem as 90+ mph winds whipped through our neighborhood. Every time I thought the winds would lessen, they came roaring back with full force. My weather machine recorded a wind gust of 64.0 mph and a 1-minute average of 63.1 mph. I've had two weather machines in about 12 years, but neither one of them has recorded wind gusts to severe limits in even the strongest of severe storms, making this storm the 1st 1 to produce strong enough winds to do so. Just when the crazy winds were finally starting to wind down, the quarter-sized hail came. The video was actually 13 minutes and 37 seconds long, but I trimmed off part of the beginning and the end via Wondershare Filmora, so only the part with the crazy winds as well as the hail is shown. I haven't uploaded any weather videos to my channel in 9 years, but I decided to put this one on the main channel for visibility purposes. Future weather videos will be uploaded to the Chess Eric Vlog channel, which is being rebooted for that purpose. As of 12:05 pm CDT on 9/24/2026, this video is #2 on my channel w/ at least 2,830 views. This was the 3rd video to reach the top 30 in 2026 and the 1st non-train video to be in it since the currently unranked "7/6/2015-Storms come through during work 3-Close lightning!!" video. The video has also directly gained me 10 subscribers, the most of any video on this channel, and has by far the most likes of any video on this channel, with 60. As a result, this is the 1st video in a decade to threaten to surpass the current #1 video on this channel. By 8 pm CDT on 8/19/2026, this video became the 4th 1 to reach 1k views! It then became the 3rd video to reach 2k views by 1 pm CDT on 9/15/2026! Thanks for all the support!
