Many decades ago, my father in law used some very small wooden butter boxes to make drawers for bits and pieces in his workshop. We inherited a few of them, and treasure them. I love making small looms. Since I am hooked on weaving Scandianvian style narrow bands, I decided to upcycle one of the little butter boxes into a narrow band weaving loom. The box is really tiny... 6 inches by 6 inches by 8 1/2 inches. I made ratchets and pawls and with a lot of trial and error, have built myself the most wonderful little loom for weaving narrow bands. It's wonderfully portable, and so I can weave anywhere! Bliss. If you would like a copy of my pattern for the ratchet, go to my blog: http://tottietalkscrafts.com/2015/01/.... If you are interested in weaving narrow Scandinavian bands, go to Susan Foulkes' video chanel on youtube, and to her website, http://durhamweaver64.blogspot.co.uk/. You can order her books on blurb.com Her work is just fabulous!
