India Women’s Hockey Make History, Beat China 1-0 For Asian Games Gold After 44 Years | News9

India’s women’s hockey team ended a 44-year wait for Asian Games gold with a historic 1-0 victory over defending champions China in the final at Gifu, Japan. Lalremsiami scored the decisive goal in the 10th minute with a superb reverse-stick strike on her 200th international appearance, while goalkeeper Savita Punia produced a crucial penalty-stroke save as India held off sustained Chinese pressure. The victory gives India its second-ever women’s hockey gold at the Asian Games, after the 1982 triumph, and also secures direct qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. India’s campaign featured several dominant wins, including victories over Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan and Singapore before the team defeated South Korea in the semifinal. #indiahockey #womenshockey #asianGames2026 #asianGames #hockey #teamindia #lalremsiami #savitapunia #salimatete #indianhockey #goldmedal #hockeygold #indiaVSchina #la2028 #olympics..............................................................................................
