BEST of INTI ILLIMANI - Greatest hits

Inti-Illimani is a legendary Chilean musical ensemble formed in 1967, renowned for spearheading the Nueva Canción (New Song) movement. Combining traditional Andean instrumentation—like the quena, zampoña, and charango—with socially conscious lyrics, they became the voice of Latin American cultural resistance and political hope. Following the 1973 Chilean military coup, the band was exiled in Europe for 15 years. This period transformed them into global ambassadors for human rights and cultural preservation. Living in Italy, they integrated Mediterranean influences into their signature indigenous folk rhythms, creating a highly sophisticated, multi-instrumental fusion. With a career spanning over five decades and dozens of albums, Inti-Illimani remains a monumental cultural institution. Their enduring music transcends borders, celebrating the resilience, folklore, and socio-political struggles of the Latin American spirit.
