When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, an empire's worth of watches ended up in drawers, attics and flea market tables across Eastern Europe. Thirty five years later, a lot of them are still there.
In this video we walk through the biggest flea markets from Berlin to Budapest, Riga, Warsaw and Sofia, and count down the ten Soviet watches worth hunting. From the everyday Pobeda and the tourist KGB Komandirskie to the Sturmanskie connected to Gagarin, the Strela chronograph tied to the first spacewalk, and the rare Poljot Okean made for the Soviet navy. Plus the red flags that separate a real find from a redialed souvenir.
