Frank Statham is the leading expert on the history of coastal radio on the British Columbia coast. From the earliest days of radio stations were set up to communicate with ships at sea. The radio operators were pioneers in their field and worked with primitive equipment in very remote locations. Statham has been researching this history for decades - and he has been a shipboard radio man for the Canadian Coast Guard in Canada's north and Arctic. He is the curator of the Roughradio.ca website.
