ICING!

My first real ICING experience. The controller descended me right into a cloud layer and the temp was ZERO. A bad formula. Watch a time lapse of how quickly ice build up happens and how fast it breaks up once you leave the moisture. Icing can happen any time these features come together and it comes on quickly. Keep this in mind as we get into colder weather - Get that Pitot heat on and stay out of the moisture near freezing temps. Don’t mess with this stuff- especially if you are not instrument rated! Have you always wanted to learn how to fly but now you are over 50? Get out there and start and learn!
