Vintage Drill Press Restoration Sydéric S115 - Old Tool Restoration

Restoring a 130 kg industrial drill press from the 1950s - stripped to the last bolt, derusted, repainted, regreased and put back to work. The longest restoration I have filmed, and worth every hour. 🪛 No pattern for this one. For a custom piece: redsmithleatherwork@gmail.com 🛠️ HOW IT WAS MADE A Sydéric S 115 column drill press, given to me by a friend of my father. 130 kg, 15 speeds from 110 to 6100 rpm, 380V three-phase 1/2 HP motor. The only part I had to buy was a CM1 1-16 mm chuck. Full teardown: every part cleaned, rust and old grease removed, wire brushed and buffed, then painted. New grease on all the gears before reassembly. The hood hinge and the handle were missing or broken, so I made new ones - the handle turned on the metal lathe, which was a good excuse to practise. It took a long time.
