Squier Upgrade - Affinity to Blacktop

I’ve had my eyes peeled for a while and I finally got another Squier Affinity few months ago. I’ve been dying to upgrade another one for a long time. The bottom line is that I wanted a HH Start, so I found one and here’s what I did to it. This was also one of the most complicated videos I’ve ever made and I’m happy about that too. The end (minute 41) has an Affinity vs. Blacktop shootout and I’m kinda shocked at how good the Affinity pickups actually do sound. Both guitars were run through my Mesa Boogie with everything set on 5s and run through my ISP Theta Pro Preamp multi FX unit. Bottom line is that it sounds great after the upgrade (although a little bit flubby and boomier than I normally like) and looks even better. That being said I can’t wait to find the next Squier to tinker with and I’m already acquiring the pieces. It was filmed on a Canon 70D, A Canon 80D and Canon SX610 HS and audio was done with a Tascam DR-60D and a mic way to far from my mouth. Thanks for looking and keep rocking, Dan.
