Belinda Kay "Kookie" Anderson Obituary
Belinda Kay “Kookie” Anderson 63 of Chapmanville, WV went to be with the lord on October 3, 2026, at her residence. She was born on June 22, 1963, the daughter of the late James Edward and Hattie Stollings Adams.
Belinda was a faith-filled, loving, and selfless woman whose life was marked by devotion to God, family, and the many people she cared for throughout her years. For 17 years, Belinda served as a cook for the Logan County Board of Education, and she loved her work deeply. She did not simply prepare meals. She fed children with care, joy, and a heart full of compassion. She understood that a warm meal could bring comfort, and she took pride in taking care of the kids who came along her path. Belinda found joy in the beauty of everyday life and in the activities that brought peace and fulfillment. Deer hunting was among the interests that brought special enjoyment, along with going to church, singing, gardening, and sowing. She was an absolute prayer warrior, and prayer was not just something she did. It was part of who she was. She believed in the strength of prayer, the peace of God, and the power of faith to carry a person through every mountain and every valley. She attended Wheatley Branch House of Prayer for more than 28 years, where she worshiped faithfully and lived out her belief in the power of prayer. Later, she continued to support her nephew as he founded Bible Way Church, standing beside him with encouragement and love. She found peace and strength in the outdoors and the mountains, where she loved to go and spend time in prayer. Above all else, Belinda treasured her husband, children, grandchildren, and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert “Pi” Adams and Billy Ray Adams; niece, Angie Adams; nephew, Benji Conley; and the father of her children, Johnny Lee Sperry.
She is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Anderson; children, Jermy (Amanda) Sperry and Brittany “Petie” (Mark) Dingess; step-children, Jason (Amber) Anderson and Phillip (Polly) Anerson; grandchildren, Gage, Keylee, Faith, Desiree, Summer, Keira, Eli, Braxton, Easton, Penelope, Leland, Payson, Claire, and Aubrey; great-grandchild, Saylor; siblings, Brady (Beth) Adams, Bonnie Sue (Marlin) Dingess, Brenda (Daniel) Conley, Bo (Patt) Adams, Becky (Frankie) Sperry, James “Tank” (Tina) Adams, and Larry (Ellen) Adams; special nieces and nephews, Boyd (Drema) Adams, Elizabeth Adkins, and Shani Workman; special friend, Missy Toler; many nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
