It's the fourth of November, and Trump's party has lost the election. That hasn't happened, but the last time he lost, he called it "a fraud on the American public". So if it happens again, what can he actually do: cancel the result, overturn it, or stop the winners taking their seats?
I go through what happened on 6 January 2021, then each power he really has (the date, his words, investigations, orders, troops), what the law allows and what happened when it was tried before, who actually certifies the result and who seats the new Congress on 3 January, and the game every side is playing.
