Early August bass fishing on Smith Mountain Lake turned into a day full of bites! 🎣 In this video, I hit the water looking to figure out what the bass were doing during the summer heat. A topwater bait and a jig ended up being the two key players, producing plenty of fish and some quality bites along the way. There’s nothing quite like watching a bass blow up on a topwater, but when they wouldn't come up, slowing down with the jig helped keep the action going.
