Tara has recently socially transitioned to being out as a trans girl at an all-girls school. Due to her interest in old speeches, ancient Latin, and quirky friends, Tara wants to join the Sibyls, a club about appreciating womanhood as it has developed over time. Despite Tara embodying the supposed ideals, she’s denied entry. Although Tara accepts the situation, protests against the club start using Tara's name and legal troubles come knocking. Tara just wants to exist as a normal girl without having to fight for everything. Representation notes: The main character is a South Asian American trans girl. One of her friends is Black. Another one of her friends is a trans guy. Her love interest is queer. Tara has to deal with a ton of transphobia and racism every day, and she's punished by her school if she points it out. She also often experiences gender dysphoria.
