A busy day of Pacific airpower unfolds at Kadena Air Base as fighters, reconnaissance aircraft, and tankers operate from the “Keystone of the Pacific.” This video captures a steady mix of departures and arrivals from both locally based and deployed units, highlighting the constant operational tempo maintained on Okinawa. Featured aircraft include multiple F-35A Lightning IIs from a rotational Hill AFB fighter deployment, along with a strong showing of F-15C Eagles from the locally based 67th Fighter Squadron “Fighting Cocks” and deployed units from the 194th Fighter Squadron “Griffins” and the 122nd Fighter Squadron “Bayou Militia.” The combination of legacy fourth-generation fighters and fifth-generation aircraft operating together provides a unique snapshot of Kadena during this transition era. Also seen is a RC-135U Combat Sent, one of the U.S. Air Force’s specialized reconnaissance platforms dedicated to collecting electronic intelligence.
