Vishnu Mantra to Start Your Thursday 🙏 Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya | Powerful Chant for Peace

Before the sun clears the water, there is a quiet minute that belongs to no one else. This long chant was made for that minute on a Thursday, Lord Vishnu's day. It opens with a single Om and the conch, settles into a slow solo chant, is answered by a group of voices, rises to a full temple peak with dhol, mridang and manjira, and then returns to stillness on one long Om and a bell. Play it while you light the diya, on your morning walk, or simply sit and let it carry you from the first Om to the last. 🌅 🙏 The mantra ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya 📖 Meaning "Om, I bow to Bhagavan Vasudeva." Vasudeva is a name of Lord Vishnu (and of Shri Krishna), understood as the one who dwells in every being. This is the twelve-syllable Dvadashakshari mantra, honoured in the Bhagavata Purana, where the sage Narada gives it to the young devotee Dhruva. 🪔 How and when it is traditionally chanted Devotees traditionally chant it in the early morning after bathing, facing east, often on a tulsi mala, for 11, 21 or 108 repetitions. Thursdays and Ekadashi are traditional days for Vishnu worship. It is chanted for a calm, steady mind, for devotion, and as a prayer for the protection of one's family. Chant along softly or just listen; sincerity matters more than the count. ⏱️ CHAPTERS 0:00 Opening Om & conch 0:28 Slow solo chant 5:03 Group chant 10:05 Powerful peak 12:24 Calm close 💬 If the chant brought you a moment of peace, write "Om Namo Narayanaya" in the comments, and tell us where you are listening from. 🔔 Subscribe to Om Onkar Sagar for a new mantra chant every Thursday, plus bhajans and naam jap through the week.
