Italian pronunciation for beginners: pure vowels, double consonants, stress, CE/CI, GE/GI, silent i, CHE/CHI, GHE/GHI, SC/SCH, GN, GLI, Z, QU/UO/IE and R/RR, with listen-and-repeat. Italian spelling is famously regular. Learn these 14 rules and you can read almost any Italian word out loud. Coco the bunny says every sound and word, then Pallino the hedgehog repeats it slowly. Then it's YOUR turn: say it out loud in the "Tocca a te!" pause. How the screen helps you: • Grey letters are silent (the i in ciao, the h in ha) • A gold bar under a double letter means: hold the sound (gatto, palla, pizza) • The little brick wall (ch, gh, sch) keeps c and g hard (chitarra, bruschetta) • A red dot shows where the beat falls (caffè, città, tiramisù) • Coral = soft c/g, teal = hard c/g, so you can see the rule in every word Traps: la pala or la palla? il papa, il papà or la pappa? il pesce or le pesche? l'anello or l'agnello? caro or il carro? Quizzes: focaccia, bruschetta, cicogna. Final challenge: prosciutto, tagliatelle, arrivederci! Pause at the end and take a screenshot of the cheat sheet with all 14 rules.
