#GlobalTravel4K #Travel4K #4ktraveldocumentary Togo is a narrow strip of West Africa where an entire people still tell how their ancestors escaped a walled town… walking backwards. Was that wall real? In this full-length travel documentary, we journey from the beaches of Lomé to the earth-built takienta houses of Koutammakou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along the way, we meet the people who make Togo what it is: the legendary Nana Benz market women who ruled the wax-print cloth trade, Evala wrestlers in the Kara hills, eco-guards protecting sea turtles at dawn, and young makers building 3D printers out of electronic waste. We also look honestly at the hard side of life here. The sea is eating the coastline, many villages still wait for electricity, and too many children work too young. Then we show how Togolese people fight back with solar power paid by phone, rock groynes against the waves, school meals, and becoming the first country in the world to eliminate four neglected tropical diseases. 🌍 In this video: Lomé: West Africa's deep-water port city Nana Benz: the women who built an empire of cloth The Ewe legend of Notsé and King Agokoli Fufu, akoumé and Togolese street food Kpalimé: cocoa hills, waterfalls and craft workshops Koutammakou: houses shaped by hand from earth Sea turtles, coastal erosion and the WACA project CIZO solar program and Novissi mobile cash aid Evala wrestling, Epe Ekpe and Agbogbo-za festivals 💬 Where are you watching from?
