A visit to the small Gaeltacht Island of Cape Clear off the coast of County Cork. ‘Súil Thart’ meets captain Concubhar Ó Drisceoil of the Cape Clear Island ferry service The Naomh Ciarán ship was a vital link between the small Gaeltacht island and the mainland of south-west Cork, but conditions were tough for the crew. Ó Drisceoil describes being on call 24 hours a day and working 80-hour weeks in busy periods. A young mother Celia Ó Drisceoil talks about the challenges of raising children on a remote island.
