The Battle of Borodino (5-8 September 1812) on the real battlefield, hour by hour, with every corps and the size of both armies. Napoleon's Grande Armée, about 130,000 French, Italians, Poles, Westphalians, Württembergers and Saxons, catches Kutuzov's Russian army 125 km from Moscow. After the fight for the Shevardino Redoubt on 5 September, the main battle on 7 September is fought over the Bagration Flèches, Semyonovskoye, Utitsa and the Raevsky Redoubt, which finally falls to Caulaincourt's cuirassiers in the afternoon. About 70,000 men fall in one day. Kutuzov retreats through Mozhaysk the next morning, and a week later Napoleon enters Moscow. 0:00 Intro 0:08 Shevardino 0:33 6 September 0:44 7 September: Borodino and the Flèches 0:57 Utitsa 1:11 The Raevsky Redoubt and Bagration's fall 1:26 Uvarov and Platov's raid 1:37 The great assault on the redoubt 1:57 Nightfall and the Russian retreat One flag = 2,000 men.
