"January" is a song I started writing some 16 years ago at age 20. In that time, I was chasing my dream of being a full-time musician and recording artist and had real questions and pain that I did not know how to voice. There is a restlessness to the story of this song that helped give language to the path I found myself on. And in that strange and beautiful way that only music can, it helped mark the season as I began to walk towards a decision that would alter the course of my twenties and lead me to the end of idealism that could not carry me into a new decade.
