20-StringMax at The Bridge Folk Club, 13 July 2026 Eleanor Plunkett (Turlough O'Carolan, 1670-1738) This was originally a Gaelic song in praise of Eleanor Plunkett of Robertstown, County Meath, Ireland. There is a story that she was the sole survivor after thirty of her family shut themselves into their castle at Castlecome and were ‘dispatched by boiling water’ (there’s no more explanation, sorry) ________________________ 20-StringMAX are Steve Gray and John Richardson. They chose ‘20-StringMAX ’ as the name for their duo because Steve often plays an eight-string mandolin and John often plays a twelve-string guitar For more music from Steve Gray go to – https://stevegray2.bandcamp.com/
