Billow Maidens

Ægir & Rán’s Nine Wave Daughters Ægir and Rán, sovereigns of the sea, fathered nine powerful daughters whose names sing the ocean’s many voices: Himinglæva (Heavenly Gleamer), Dúfa (The Dipper), Blóðughadda (Bloody-Haired), Hefring (The Riser), Uðr (The Wet One), Hrönn (The Roarer), Bylgja (The Billower), Dröfn (The Foamer), and Kólga (The Cold One). From rising swells and foaming crests to fierce, cold breakers, they are the billowing sisters of the deep - living embodiments of the waves that dance and roar across the waters. Daughters of storm and tide.
