When I removed the windshield on this Porsche 911 Cabriolet, I found significant rust hiding inside the windshield channel. What started as a simple window replacement quickly turned into welding, rust repair, epoxy primer, body filler, base coat, clear coat, and a careful blend to keep everything hidden under the seal. The goal here wasn’t a full repaint—it was a proper long-term repair using quality materials so this rust doesn’t come back. Everything needed to stay protected, sealed, and mostly invisible once the glass goes back in. I walk through the repair process, the materials I used, blending the paint without hard tape lines, wet sanding the clear, polishing the halo edge, and getting everything ready for windshield installation. This is the kind of repair you hope you never find… but if you do, this is how I’d recommend handling it. Next week: windshield install and hopefully getting this thing back on the road after sitting for months.
