I've modded some of the game settings as per suggestions and advice from more experienced players to make the game a more fun and better balanced experience. I'll list the changes below. Grand Tactician: The Civil War is a strategy wargame allowing us to play out the entire American Civil War with control of both the country's economic and military policies, the economy and of course the armies and navies. It combines grand strategy (the campaign) with tactical real-time battles when the armies meet. The Changes. The Campaign Preferences file has been edited with the following changes (thanks to ‪@MrDidz‬ for the information): "Standard readiness recovery per year" increased x4 from base value; "Maximum retreating distance" reduced from 300 to 70 miles; Readiness is now not the the crippling issue it was before when invading enemy territory. The retreat distance change should encourage defeated armies to retreat back into their own territory rather than finding somewhere forwards to retreat to in some situations.
