Lessons learned from South Sudan: The role of the UN peacekeeping mission

The Norwegian Institute of International has the pleasure of inviting you to the seminar: Lessons learned from South Sudan: The role of the UN peacekeeping mission In this seminar Hilde Frafjord Johnson , former Special Representative of the Secretary-General in South Sudan and Senior Visiting Fellow at NUPI, will shed light on the role of the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and the response to the crisis triggered by the December 2013 relapse into violent conflict. A particular focus will be on the protection of civilians within the mission’s bases. UNMISS is unique in this regard.
