Vocal Strength Coach Reacts to Nene Royal | Hail to the King | FIRST TIME

Avenged Sevenfold was one of THE bands for me growing up. There was probably a five-year stretch where, outside of Linkin Park, I don’t think I listened to another band more than Avenged Sevenfold. So “Hail to the King” is very near and dear to me. And Nene Royal absolutely crushed this. This song fits her voice ridiculously well. M. Shadows has such a distinctive sound on the original, but Nene has enough weight, edge and character in her own voice that the song feels completely natural coming from her. I also loved the way this performance was filmed. The camera is crisp, close and front-facing, so you really get to watch Nene in her element. She’s playing with her bandmates, working the crowd and clearly having a blast. That might be my favorite part of this entire rabbit hole. She doesn’t just play these songs well. She looks like she LOVES doing it. And yes, I am STILL sticking to my prediction. We are getting extremely close to the America’s Got Talent finale, and seeing Nene performing with her band this close to it is not making me back down. I still think OZONE ends up on that AGT stage with her. Now tell me where we go next. Do we do something completely new? Do we revisit another version of “Nothing Else Matters” or “Master of Puppets”? Or do we go all the way back and watch young Nene take on DragonForce’s “Through the Fire and Flames”? We’re getting close. This is getting exciting.
