Some places are not meant to entertain us. They are meant to remind us. Today, I visited Choeung Ek, one of the most significant historical sites in Cambodia, remembered as one of the killing fields during the Khmer Rouge period. Standing quietly in this place, I found myself thinking about something very simple: What is the value of one human life? Behind every life lost was a person who had a family, hopes, relationships, and dreams. Remembering painful history is not about creating hatred. It is about learning. It reminds us to value life, practice compassion, reject violence, and protect peace for future generations. From a Buddhist perspective, this place also invites us to reflect on loving-kindness, compassion, non-violence, and the consequences of human actions. We cannot change the past. But we can choose what we learn from it. Remember. Reflect. Choose Peace. 🙏 May we never forget those who lost their lives. May their memory remind us to live with greater compassion and wisdom. ⸻ 🙏 A Reflection from Cambodia If this video gives you a moment to pause and reflect, please share it with someone who may also appreciate this message.
