Exploring Abandoned Sandburg Mall

Why hello there. Welcome to the abandoned Sandburg Mall located in some town. The mall opened in 1975 with JCPenney, Sears, Bergners as anchors. In 1992 Kmart would be added to the mall. The mall began to decline in the 2000s and by 2014 the first anchor store Sears would close, followed by Kmart in 2016, JCPenney and Bergners in 2018. Also in 2018 the malls interior would close, since then the mall has been sitting abandoned rotting away. As of 2026 the mall has been gutted and is awaiting demolition.
