Detailed walkthrough and demo of Undersong by ijo audio, one of the most interesting FX apps I’ve come across in a while. Although it’s an effect app, it works more like an instrument, generating notes and melodies in response to incoming audio. Thanks to ijo audio for sponsoring this video. Sponsored videos pay for my time in learning the app, giving feedback on it, coming up with cool examples and making a good video: many days of work, in all. Sponsoring does not buy my opinions, and I make constructively critical comments where needed. I only make sponsored videos on apps I would genuinely recommend to viewers, and I’ve turned down more offers of sponsored videos than I’ve accepted, over the years. 🙏 iOS version (iPad and iPhone, standalone and AUv3 plugin,iOS 17+): https://apps.apple.com/app/undersong/... Max4Live version: https://snakeshaky.gumroad.com/l/unde... A VST3/AU version for desktop will come eventually, but for now this is only available on iOS and Max4Live.   Couple of suggestions for improvement I forgot to mention in the vid: I wish the reverb affected the incoming audio too, or that at least there was an option for that. The labels which aren't highlighted are quite low contrast when using in bright conditions or with the screen at low brightness. I'd also like higher rate options for the quantize and step modes, because I often work at low bpms. Overall though, I’m very happy with the design and functionality of this app. Oh btw: I asked for ability to feed midi notes into this in real time, to shape the notes generated, and it seems likely that will come in an update. Check out my video on Celestine by ijo audio, another cool FX app for M4L and iOS, this one is a granular effect:    • Now on iPad too: Celestine (Granular FX) b...   If you're new to this channel, welcome! I make walkthroughs on music making apps and plugins, all of which are available for iPad, many of which are available for iPhone and desktop. If that sounds like your kind of thing, why not subscribe and hit the bell. Cheers!
