⚠️ Note: This tutorial covers the foundational workflow for connecting relation items via frontend forms. Some UI details may differ from the current JetEngine version. For the latest Relations features and Query Builder updates, see the links below.

JetEngine Relations lets you connect WordPress posts, custom post types, and CCT items — and with JetFormBuilder, users can create and manage those connections directly on the frontend without touching the admin panel.
This tutorial shows the foundational setup for frontend relation management: building a form that connects parent and child objects and submitting it from the front end with dynamic visibility control.
Useful for agencies building directory sites, travel platforms, or any project where content editors or end users need to assign related records (tours to countries, listings to categories, agents to properties) without admin access.
In this video, you'll learn how to:
Set up a one-to-many relation between two CPTs in JetEngine Relations
Build a JetFormBuilder form using the Connect Relation Items post submit action
Add the form to a single page template and scope it to the correct context
Use Dynamic Visibility to show the form only to specific user roles
Test the full frontend relation submission flow
-------------
❓ What is the Connect Relation Items post submit action in JetFormBuilder?
It is a post submit action that creates a relation link between two existing objects (posts, CCT items, users) when a form is submitted on the frontend. No admin access is required from the user submitting the form.
❓ Do I need JetEngine Relations enabled to use this form action?
Yes. The Relations module in JetEngine must be active and at least one relation must be configured before you can use Connect Relation Items in JetFormBuilder.
❓ Can I also query and display related items using JetEngine Query Builder?
Yes. JetEngine Query Builder includes a Relations query type that lets you fetch and display connected items in any listing, grid, or map — no custom code needed.
❓ What is Dynamic Visibility and why is it used here?
Dynamic Visibility is a JetEngine module that shows or hides any widget or block based on conditions such as user role, login status, or meta value. In this context it ensures the relation form appears only to authorized users.
