Valgar's Letter

"High Hrothgar has grown silent. Its doors remain closed, and the Greybeards no longer offer counsel to those who climb the Seven Thousand Steps. Yet still they come. Warriors seeking power. Pilgrims wisdom. The grieving, the lost… The path is long. The wind is bitter. Not all who begin the climb will reach its end. For The mountain offers no promise of safety. Its beasts care nothing for rank or reputation. Yet even the smallest life carries Kyne’s breath. It seeks no glory. but the world is not made gentle because we wish it to be. The wolf does not kill from hatred, nor does the hare die from weakness. I am no Greybeard. I am only a student of the Way, listening for what the mountain may teach. I shall remain here through snow, storm and clear sky. Not as a master, but as one pilgrim awaiting others. Until the doors open, I shall offer guidance to those who make the journey. Not secrets of the Thu’um. Not promises of power. Only questions, trials… and the chance to discover what wisdom already lies within you. Some will carry offerings to Kyne. Some will sit beneath falling water, until they hear what lies beneath its roar. Those who wish may leave an offering for the pilgrims who follow. A gift freely given carries greater meaning than gold given for praise. And So heed my call Climb the Seven Thousand Steps. Come not merely to speak… but to listen.
